Conventional wisdom dictates that it is unhealthy and possibly even dangerous to participate in a weight loss plan during pregnancy. This is a myth. Weight loss can actually lead to a healthier pregnancy and baby if done correctly.

Visit your doctor and ask about the safety of losing weight given your individual needs.

See a nutritionist weekly or monthly to make and monitor a healthy nutrition plan.

Participate in pregnancy safe exercise such as yoga and swimming.

Monitor your weight but don’t obsess over it.

If your weight loss plan at any time becomes unhealthy, abandon it without guilt.

If you have the support of essential medical professionals, it is healthy to lose weight during pregnancy if you are obese. Becoming healthier is good for you and your baby.
